NCAA Men’s Championships: Showdowns Begin (Day 2 Prelims Heat Sheets)<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

The first full day of the 2024 Division I Men’s Swimming and Diving Championships from Indianapolis is upon us.<\/p>\n

The prelims events are the 500 freestyle, 200 individual medley and 50 freestyle before 1-meter diving prelims.<\/p>\n

The top seed in the 500 freestyle is Arizona State’s Leon Marchand<\/strong>, who broke the NCAA record in the 200 freestyle leading off the 800 free relay on Wednesday.<\/p>\n

He will be flanked by Florida Olympian Jake Mitchell<\/strong> and Cal junior Gabriel Jett<\/strong> in the seventh and final heat of prelims.<\/p>\n

DAY 2 HEAT SHEETS<\/a><\/p>\n

His ASU teammate Zalan Sarkany<\/strong> has the second overall seed and is in lane 4 in the sixth heat.<\/p>\n

In the 200 IM, Arizona State’s Hubert Kos<\/strong> has the top seed and will be flanked by Stanford’s Ron Polonsky<\/strong> and Michigan’s Gal Groumi<\/strong> in the eighth and final heat of the event.<\/p>\n

Earlier heats will see Arizona State’s Owen McDonald<\/strong>, Texas A&M’s Baylor Nelson<\/strong>, Cal’s Destin Lasco<\/strong> and freshman upstarts Will Modglin<\/strong> of Texas and Daniel Diehl<\/strong> of NC State.<\/p>\n

In the 50 free, Tennessee junior Jordan Crooks<\/strong> is the defending champion and the top seed, the only one in the field to break 18 seconds this season.<\/p>\n

In the eighth and final heat, he will have Arizona State’s Jack Dolan<\/strong> and Ilya Kharun<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Earlier heats will see Florida’s Josh Liendo<\/strong>, Virginia Tech’s Youssef Ramadan<\/strong>, Cal’s Bjorn Seeliger<\/strong> and Jack Alexy<\/strong>, Virginia’s Matt Brownstead<\/strong> and Notre Dame’s Chris Guiliano.<\/strong><\/p>\n
