NCAA Women’s Championships: Walsh Sisters, Sims Aim For Third Wins on Final Day (Heat Sheets)<\/strong><\/p>\n

Three women have already won multiple individual titles at the NCAA Women’s Championships, and all three lead the way in events scheduled for Saturday in Athens, Ga., with Florida’s Bella Sims<\/strong> seeded first in the 200 backstroke, Virginia’s\u00a0Gretchen Walsh<\/strong> going for another record in the 100 freestyle and\u00a0Alex Walsh<\/strong> aiming for the eighth individual NCAA title of her remarkable career in the 200 breaststroke.<\/p>\n

Sims will swim next to 2021 NCAA champion\u00a0Phoebe Bacon<\/strong> in the 200 back heats, while\u00a0Isabelle Stadden<\/strong> and\u00a0Reilly Tiltmann<\/strong> highlight the second-to-last heat and\u00a0Josephine Fuller<\/strong> and\u00a0Kennedy Noble<\/strong> are in the heat before. In the 100 free, Gretchen Walsh and another Virginia swimmer, 100 breast NCAA champion Jasmine<\/strong> Nocentini<\/strong>, will race next to each other in the final heat after Florida’s\u00a0Isabel Ivey<\/strong> and NC State’s\u00a0Katharine Berkoff<\/strong> are one heat before that.<\/p>\n

Alex Walsh races next to 100-meter breast Olympic gold medalist\u00a0Lydia Jacoby<\/strong> in the final heat of the 200 breast, with 100 breast runnerup\u00a0Mona McSharry<\/strong> seeded third and in the heat before alongside Texas’\u00a0Anna Elendt<\/strong>. Finally, as Texas tries to mount a furious comeback to catch up to the high-flying Cavaliers, the Longhorns are seeded first, second and fourth in the 200 butterfly. Defending champion\u00a0Emma Sticklen<\/strong> and teammate\u00a0Olivia Bray<\/strong> are in the final heat while\u00a0Kelly Pash<\/strong> races before them.<\/p>\n
