NEW COMMIT:\u00a0<\/strong>Columbia University has picked up a new verbal commitment* for the upcoming 2024-25 season and beyond from U.S. Open qualifier Shaelyn Shields<\/strong> of Charlotte, North Carolina.<\/p>\n

Regarding her commitment, she said:<\/p>\n

“I am excited and honored to announce my commitment to the admissions process at Columbia University! I cannot wait to continue my academic and athletic career with such an amazing team. Thank you Coach Diana and Coach Demerae for giving me this incredible opportunity. I would also like to thank my family, coaches, and friends for their endless support! Shields does her club swimming with SwimMAC Carolina. She raced four events at Juniors East back in December and most recently placed third in the 400 IM at the NCS Senior Championships. She finished 20th in the 400m IM at Junior Nationals last summer.<\/p>\n
