So Thursday, on the third day of the ACC Championships, Walsh delivered a ho-hum 49.32 seconds in the women\u2019s 100 butterfly, a top seed by nearly two seconds.<\/p>\n<p>Just light work for the Cavaliers\u2019 latest all-conquering star.<\/p>\n<p>Both NCAA favorites in the 100 fly were in action Thursday morning at the Greensboro Aquatic Center, with reigning men\u2019s 100 fly champ Youssef Ramadan easily through as the top seed for Virginia Tech in the men\u2019s event.<\/p>\n<p>The big change is Alex Walsh scratching out of the individual events on Thursday. She had carried the top 400 individual medley time into the meet at 4:00.52. The IM should put that out of reach, the Cavaliers qualifying the top three times. <strong>Margaret Nelson<\/strong> leads the way in 4:09.07, the top seed and only one under 4:11. She owns the top seed time of the season at 4:03.61.<\/p>\n<p>Second was <strong>Ella Bathurst,<\/strong> with the Cavs\u2019 <strong>Anna Keating<\/strong> in third. That time stands as the meet record. (Douglass was 48.46 at NCAAs).<\/p>\n<p>Second in the race is Louisville\u2019s <strong>Gabi Albiero<\/strong> in 51.15. He was only four tenths up on <strong>Aiden Hayes<\/strong> of NC State, though.<\/p>\n<p>The Wolfpack will have something to say in the final, with four A finalists. Third is <strong>Lukas Miller<\/strong> in 45.01, .11 seconds ahead of teammate <strong>Noah Henderson. Teammate <strong>Reilly Tiltmann<\/strong> followed in 1:44.40, with <strong>Maxine Parker<\/strong> fourth, <strong>Cavan Gormsen<\/strong> fifth and <strong>Tess Howley<\/strong> eighth.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Paige Hetrick<\/strong> is Louisville\u2019s only bulwark against the UVA tide, in third in 1:44.72. He\u2019s .18 seconds clear of Georgia Tech\u2019s <strong>Baturalp Unlu.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The A final is pretty evenly split. <strong>Daniel Diehl<\/strong> leads NC State in 1:33.31, with the Wolfpack\u2019s <strong>Kacper Stokowski<\/strong> scratching. Louisville has two swimmers, <strong>Guy Brooks<\/strong> in fourth and <strong>Murilo Sartori<\/strong> in fifth. Virginia Tech pushed two into the final.
