It was the 18th state championship crown for coach Chris Plumb.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Carmel scored 433 points, just off its record 498 points from 2023. The Greyhounds still would\u2019ve won the meet even if they scored half the points they actually did.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Click <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ihsaa.org\/sites\/default\/files\/documents\/2023-24%20GSw%20State%20Results.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><b>HERE<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> for full results.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Top 5 Team Scores:<\/span><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Carmel &#8211; 433<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Penn &#8211; 212\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Fishers &#8211; 202\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Zionsville &#8211; 170\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Carroll (Fort Wayne) &#8211; 166<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Three Carmel swimmers were double-event winners during the meet: <strong>Alex Shackell<\/strong> (100 fly, 100 back), <strong>Lynsey Bowen<\/strong> (200 free, 500 free) and <strong>Molly Sweeney<\/strong> (200 IM, 100 breast).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A total of three state records fell during the meet:<\/span><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Lilian Christianson (Penn) &#8211; 50 free,\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Alex Shackell (Carmel) \u2013 100 fly, 50.25<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Lynsey Bowen (Carmel) &#8211; 500 free, 4:40.74<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Christianson sprinted to the top spot in the 50 free, throwing down a blazing time of 21.72 during finals after her 22.29 in prelims. She recorded a 50.57 during prelims before winning in 50.25. She won the event by over three seconds.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/top-target-in-class-of-2025-alex-shackell-choose-cal\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Cal-bound<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Shackell, a junior, later scared the state mark in the 100 back. Her time of 51.63 to collect another gold medal was just shy of the 51.50 state record.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Bowen dominated the 500 free in a state-record-worthy performance of her own. After her 4:44.85 in prelims, she crushed the field in a 4:40.74 to break her own state record of 4:42.81 from 2023. She beat the field by about seven seconds.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Having <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/gators-start-2025-recruiting-with-verbal-from-world-junior-champ-lynsey-bowen\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">verbally committed<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to Florida, Bowen was also victorious in the 200 free with her winning time of 1:45.74 \u2013 two seconds ahead of everyone else.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Picking up two gold medals was Sweeney, whose 1:56.38 in the 200 IM bested the field by an impressive 3.5 seconds. The sophomore was also the only swimmer to sneak under the minute-marker in the 100 breast, doing so in 59.47.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Also of note, Wawasee\u2019s <strong>Julie Mishler<\/strong> was also under the state record in the 50 free with a quick 21.85. The <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/louisville-cardinals-add-julie-mishler-to-class-of-2025\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">future Louisville Cardinal<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> earned silver in the event, also securing a runner-up finish in the 100 back (52.97).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">On the boards, <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Fort Wayne Snider\u2019s <\/span><b>Amelia Rinehart<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> captured a victory in 1-meter diving with an impressive
