World Championships: China Edges Korea, US, For Gold in 800 Free Relay<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

Day 6 of the 2024 World Championships in Doha concluded with the men’s 4×200 relay, which turned out to be one of the closest races of the meet.<\/p>\n

China won the gold medal in 7:01.84, just a tenth of a second ahead of South Korea and nearly two tenths ahead of the U.S. (7:02.08).<\/p>\n

Day 6 Results<\/a><\/p>\n

China led off with Ji Xinjie<\/strong>, who split a 1:46.45, followed by Wang Haoyu<\/strong> (1:45.69), Pan Zhanle<\/strong> (1:43.90) and Zhang Zhanshuo<\/strong> (1:45.80) to earn the gold medal.<\/p>\n

Korea started with Jaehoon Yang<\/strong> (1:47.78), followed by Woomin Kim<\/strong> (1:44.93), Hojoon Lee<\/strong> (1:45.37) and Hwang Sun-Woo<\/strong> (1:43.76) and took the silver.<\/p>\n

The U.S. took the bronze medal at the World Championship with a field consisted of Luke Hobson<\/strong>, who split a 1:45.26, followed by Carson Foster<\/strong> (1:43.94), Hunter Armstrong<\/strong> (1:45.73) and David Johnston<\/strong> (1:47.15).<\/p>\n

Great Britain’s Matthew Richards, Max Litchfield, Jack McMillan<\/strong> and Duncan Scott<\/strong> took fourth (7:05.09).<\/p>\n

Italy’s Flippo Megli, Alessandro Ragaini, Matteo Ciampi<\/strong> and Stefano di Col<\/strong>a finished fifth in 7:07.00.<\/p>\n

Greece finished sixth in 7:09.10, followed by Lithuania (7:11.57) and Spain (7:11.65).<\/p>\n
