WOODLANDS, Tex, August 16. FRIDAY'S final session is in the books, with some additional semifinals in the 100 Breaststroke and 100 Butterfly. Standout swims in the semifinals were swum by Jackie Pangilinan, who swam 1:11.98 in the 100 Breaststroke. 14 year old Katherine Raatz is the top seed in the Women's 100 Fly in 1:03.61, going out in a fast 29.13. Ronald Meyers, 17, from Fort Lauderdale touched in 56.77. <\/p>\n
Women\u2019s 200 Freestyle
\nAusten Carter, the 100 Free winner, Jenni Stratton, top 6 in the 400 and 100 Freestyles and Christin Jennings, the winner of the 400 Free would go at it in the 200 Free finals. Carter, 16, from Team Greenville took the early lead nearly a half second ahead of Stratton and Jennings. Stratton, 17, from David Douglas (OR) would finish stronger than the rest of the pack however, eventually catching and tying with Carter for the win in 2:04.60.<\/p>\n
Men\u2019s 200 Freestyle
\nJames Keenan, 18, from Terrapins would win the 200 Free in 1:56.02, coming back from 4th place at the 100, to finish a half second ahead of the field. Matt Coan, 18, Fort Lauderdale made a huge lead at the 100, nearly a second and a half ahead of eventual champion, Keenan. Coan finished in second place in 1:56.54. James Hard, 17, from the Woodlands finished third in 1:56.96.<\/p>\n
Women\u2019s 200 Backstroke
\nMichell Parkhurst, 15, from Machine Aquatics finished the 100 backstroke with an impressive 1:05.11, touching in second. This wouldn\u2019t be the case in the 200. Parkhurst took the top spot in the 200 finishing in 2:19.23. Second place went to Madeleine Stanton, 16, from Blue Tide Aquatics, who went out fast, but couldn\u2019t match Parkhurst\u2019s last 150, finishing in 2:20.08. Third went to Julianne McLane, 15, from Terrapins touching in 2:20.94.<\/p>\n
Men\u2019s 200 Backstroke
\nThe Men\u2019s 200 Back was won by Caleb McDermott, 17, from Circle C. McDermott would take the early lead and not look back, keeping all of his 50 splits under 32.5 the rest of the field didn\u2019t stand a chance running him down. McDermott would touch in 2:07.05. Second would go to 14-year old Aaron Casey from Santa Monica touching in an impressive 2:08.91. Casey touched just ahead of Ryan Deweese, 17, from Poseidon, finishing in 2:08.92.<\/p>\n
Women\u2019s 200 Freestyle Relay
\nConejo Simi put together 4 solid legs to take the win in 1:48.27, beating the field by over 2 seconds. Second went to Pacific Swim touching just ahead of the Woodlands, touching in 1:50.50 and 1:50.59, respectively. <\/p>\n
Men\u2019s 200 Freestyle Relay
\nFort Lauderdale has won numerous NCSA Junior titles over the last two years. Add one more to the list. Lauderdale would win by only two hundredths, in 1:37.90 due to a fast final leg by Ronald Meyers (23.84).
