The Olympic medals have been completed for the upcoming 2024 Paris Games, and each one was crafted with something special.<\/p>\n

Each medal is inlaid with an actual piece of the Eiffel Tower.<\/p>\n

The winners of the gold, silver and bronze medals at the Olympics and Paralympics will receive this historic take on medals.<\/p>\n

The design was revealed on Thursday by the organizers.<\/p>\n

The Eiffel Tower pieces were taken from the monument as part of an ongoing upkeep on the tower. As parts are replaced, or changed, pieces will now end up around the necks of medal winners.<\/p>\n

The iron pieces embedded in the center of the Olympic medals each weigh 18 grams (about two-thirds of an ounce), according to The Associated Press<\/a>.
