Some feel almost too real. Whatever the type, nightmares come and go. Given their normalcy as part of our sleep patterns, this week\u2019s Friday FunDay poses the question: What is your swimming nightmare?<\/p>\n<p>Is it false-starting during a big race? The legendary Ian Thorpe lived that experience in the 400-meter freestyle during the 2004 Australian Olympic Trials. Thorpe\u2019s nightmare, though, had a positive outcome, as Craig Stevens ultimately yielded his spot in the event at the Athens Games, paving the way for Thorpe to repeat as Olympic champion.<\/p>\n<p>Is your nightmare getting caught in the closing strokes? Maybe it\u2019s completely missing a turn, which leads to the knowledge that the race will not produce the result you envisioned. Is your nightmare suffering a .01 setback to a longtime rival? Could it be that you never made it to the blocks, as some sort of mishap led you to miss your race? Is your nightmare something else?<\/p>\n<p>We\u2019ve created a quiz for this week\u2019s Friday FunDay where you can select your swimming nightmare from the choices provided, or offer up an additional option.
