Gold Medalist Madi Wilson Announces Pregnancy; Will Miss Paris Games but Not Retiring<\/strong><\/p>\n

Australian Olympic gold medalist Madi Wilson<\/strong> late last week announced she is expecting a child, but she\u2019s not calling time on her swim career.<\/p>\n

Wilson and her fianc\u00e9, professional cricketer Matt Short,<\/strong> made the announcement last week. It means Wilson won\u2019t pursue a third Olympic Games in Paris this summer. But she\u2019s not ready to leave the sport behind.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m definitely not retired,\u201d Wilson told the<\/a> Sydney Morning Herald<\/em>. \u201cI am returning to the pool in October. There are still things I need to do in the pool. I feel like I need to finish the way I want to finish, whether that be at a World Cup or another world championship.\u201d<\/p>\n
