For the women, it\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/iuhoosiers.com\/news\/2024\/2\/2\/mens-swimming-and-diving-no-6-9-indiana-produces-perfect-punctuation-to-dual-meet-season\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">the first unbeaten run through the season since 2006-07.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The men\u2019s meet was highlighted by <strong>Finn Brooks<\/strong> going 51.34 in the 100 breaststroke, the third best time in the nation this season, in his first time swimming the event in nearly two years.<\/p>\n<h4>Men\u2019s<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>No. 6 Indiana 189, No. 15 Louisville 110<\/li>\n<li>No. 6 Indiana 202, No. 22 Wisconsin 96<\/li>\n<li>No. 15 Louisville 165.5, No. 22 Wisconsin 130.5<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4>Women\u2019s<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>No. 9 Indiana 181, No. 8 Louisville 119<\/li>\n<li>No. 9 Indiana 205, No. 14 Wisconsin 95<\/li>\n<li>No. 8 Louisville 181, No. 14 Wisconsin 117<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Gan went 9:30.07 in the 1,000 free, trimming nearly a second off her school record. She needed that to edge Wisconsin\u2019s <strong>Maddie Waggoner,<\/strong> who went 9:30.88 to finish second. Gan, a Singaporean international swimmer, also won the 500 free in 4:40.30, rallying past reining Big Ten champ <strong>Abby Carlson.<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/meet\/big-ten-swimming\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Big Ten Swimming News<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/meet\/acc-swimming\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">ACC Swimming News<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/results\/louisville-wisconsin-at-indiana\/ncaa-college\/2024\/February\/2?rtn=%2Fresults%2F\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Meet Results<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Peplowski followed that swim by lowering her school record in the 200 free to 1:42.20. She owns the top five times in program history. <strong>Kristina Paegle<\/strong> was third to bolster the Hoosiers\u2019 totals.<\/p>\n<p>Indiana also clipped a second off their school record in the 400 free relay, the squad of Peplowski, <strong>Ashley Turak, Ella Ristic<\/strong> and Paegle going 3:11.37. They edged Louisville by .45 seconds.<\/p>\n<p>The women\u2019s meet was highlighted by outstanding races. Turak outkicked Louisville\u2019s <strong>Gabi Albiero<\/strong> to help the Hoosiers win the 200 medley relay by .02 seconds. <strong>Kacey McKenna<\/strong> of the hosts went 51.33 in the 100 backstroke, besting Wisconsin\u2019s <strong>Phoebe Bacon<\/strong> by .02 seconds. <strong>Ella Welch<\/strong> of Louisville was .09 seconds ahead of Wisconsin\u2019s <strong>Hazal Ozkan<\/strong> in the 100 breaststroke, with a time of 1:00.05.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to her win, Peplowski finished second in the 100 free (with Paegle third) and third in the 200 backstroke back-to-back. Paegle went 21.84 to win the 50 free. <strong>Brearna Crawford,<\/strong> on the winning medley relay, won the 200 breast in 2:09.73 and was third in the 100 breast. <strong>Anna Freed<\/strong> prevailed in the 400 individual medley. <strong>Anne Fowler<\/strong> swept the diving events, with <strong>Skyler Liu<\/strong> (second in 3-meter, third in 1-meter) on the podium for both.<\/p>\n<p>Albeiro rallied after the opening relay to dominate the 200 fly. She also won the 100 free in 47.55. Welch was second to <strong>Christiana Regenauer<\/strong> in the 100 fly, the latter going 51.81. She was second in the 50 free.<\/p>\n<p>Bacon rallied to win the 200 back authoritatively in 1:52.96. She was also third in the 100 fly in 52.34. <strong>Callahan Dunn<\/strong> finished second in the 400 IM for the Badgers.<\/p>\n<p>Brooks\u2019 swim highlighted the men\u2019s meet, for an Indiana program that has no shortage of great breaststrokers. He went 51.34 to win by nearly a second over teammate <strong>Jassen Yep\u2019s<\/strong> 52.10. (Yep won the 200 breast.) Brooks also won the 100 fly in 45.67, .09 seconds ahead of teammate <strong>Tomer Frankel.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Brooks was on the winning 200 medley relay, teaming with <strong>Brendan Burns,<\/strong> Frankel and <strong>Gavin Wight<\/strong> to go 1:22.88.<\/p>\n<p>Burns went on a tear. He won the 100 back in 45.91, teammate <strong>Luke Barr<\/strong> second. Burns also claimed the 200 fly in 1:40.78 and the 200 back in 1:40.04, ahead of teammate <strong>Kai Van Westering.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Frankel and Wight went 1-2 in the 100 free, Frankel winning in 42.19. The two joined <strong>Rafael Miroslaw,<\/strong> who won the 200 free in 1:32.55, and 50 free runner-up <strong>Mikkel Lee<\/strong> in winning the 400 free.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ilia Sibirtsev<\/strong> led Louisville\u2019s victory. He went 8:55.74 to win the 1,000 free and 4:20.52 to claim the 500 free. <strong>Murilo Sartori<\/strong> was second in the latter after finishing third in the 200 free, a spot behind teammate <strong>Guy Brooks. Denis Petrashov<\/strong> was second in the 200 breast and third in the 100 breast. <strong>Tommy Bried<\/strong> finished second in the 400 IM.<\/p>\n<p>Wisconsin picked up a win in the 50 free thanks to <strong>Taiko Torepe-Ormsby,<\/strong> who went 19.36 to get the win. <strong>Dominik Mark Torok<\/strong> won the 400 IM after finishing second in the 200 fly.<\/p>\n<p>In diving, <strong>Max Weinrich<\/strong> scored 388.13 points to coast to the win on 1-meter. He scored 428.93 to win 3-meter.
