{"id":576714,"date":"2024-01-30T15:58:35","date_gmt":"2024-01-30T22:58:35","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/?p=576714"},"modified":"2024-01-30T15:58:35","modified_gmt":"2024-01-30T22:58:35","slug":"tennessee-takes-down-four-of-six-sec-weekly-honors","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/tennessee-takes-down-four-of-six-sec-weekly-honors\/","title":{"rendered":"Tennessee Takes Down Four of Six SEC Weekly Honors"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Tennessee Takes Down Four of Six SEC Weekly Honors<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The University of Tennessee earned four of the six SEC Weekly Honors handed out <a href=\"https:\/\/www.secsports.com\/article\/39423636\/jan-30\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">by the conference on Tuesday.<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Jordan Crooks<\/strong> and <strong>Mona McSharry<\/strong> were the top men\u2019s and women\u2019s swimmers. <strong>Bryden Hattie<\/strong> was the men\u2019s diver of the week, while <strong>Camille Spink<\/strong> was the women\u2019s freshman of the week. <strong>Ana Monroy<\/strong> of Florida is the women\u2019s diver of the week, while LSU sprinter <strong>Jere Hribar<\/strong> is the top men\u2019s freshman.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/meet\/sec-swimming\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">SEC Swimming News<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Crooks helped <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/jordan-crooks-shines-as-tennessee-sweeps-lsu-on-senior-day\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">the Vols top LSU in a dual meet<\/a>. He won the 50 freestyle in 18.80 seconds and the 100 fly in 45.18. The Cayman Islands international lead off the Vols\u2019 winning 400 free relay and swam fly in the 200 medley relay victory.<\/p>\n<p>McSharry won the 50 free in 22.12 over LSU, then won the 200 breaststroke in 2:06.63. The Irish international swam breaststroke to help the Volunteers\u2019 200 medley relay to a victory.<\/p>\n<p>Hattie swept the diving events against the Tigers. The senior from Canada scored 400.35 points to prevail on 3-meter and 366.15 on 1-meter to take his season tally to 11 wins from seven meets.<\/p>\n<p>Spink won the 100 free in the meet against LSU. Her time was 48.03 seconds. She finished second in the 200 free in 1:44.63. She swam legs on Tennessee\u2019s victorious 200 medley and 400 free relays.<\/p>\n<p>Monroy won three diving events in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/florida-wins-22-events-in-near-identical-sweep-of-rival-florida-state\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">an in-state dual with Florida State<\/a>. The freshman from Mexico scored 345.00 points on 3-meter, 323.33 on platform and 302.45 on 1-meter.<\/p>\n<p>Hribar set a best time of 19.39 seconds to finish as the runner-up to Crooks in the 50 free against Tennessee.
