Distance Ace Mike McCarthy Verbals to the Vols for 2025<\/strong><\/p>\n

NEW COMMIT:\u00a0<\/strong>The University of Tennessee has secured a new verbal commitment for Fall 2025 from Junior National qualifier Mike McCarthy\u00a0<\/strong>of Swedesboro, New Jersey.<\/p>\n

He will join\u00a0Jake McCoy<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>in Knoxville as a member of the Vols’ Class of 2029.<\/p>\n

Regarding his commitment, he said:<\/p>\n

“I\u2019m so thankful to announce my commitment to the University of Tennessee to further my academic and swimming career. I would like to thank my family, coaches, and teammates for getting me to where I am now. Excited for what\u2019s to come! GO VOLS\ud83c\udf4a!”<\/strong><\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

McCarthy does his club swimming with Jersey Wahoos and placed 13th in the mile at Juniors East last month. Last summer, he earned silver in the 800m free and bronze in both the 400m free and 1500m free at Middle Atlantic Seniors before going on to compete at Junior Nationals.<\/p>\n
