SHENANDOAH, Texas, June 21. KATIE Ledecky added two more individual victories in the women\u2019s 200 free and 400 IM tonight, just missing her season best in the 200 free and recording a new personal best in the 400 IM during the third evening of finals at The Woodlands Senior Invite in Shenandoah.<\/p>\n
Meaghan Wisenbaker of The Woodlands got the night started with a narrow victory in the women\u2019s 100 fly. Wisenbaker finished in 1:04.10 to just touch out Marlins of Raleigh\u2019s Caroline Mitchell, who came in at 1:04.18. Dorothy Halmy, also from The Woodlands, rounded out the top three in 1:04.44. In the men\u2019s race, Tripp Cooper kept the ball rolling for The Woodlands with a first place effort of 54.39. Sascha Subarsky of Rose Bowl touched second in 55.01, with PX3\u2019s Steve Yemm in third at 56.30.<\/p>\n
Ledecky continued her strong meet with another win, this time in the 200 free. Ledecky posted a time of 1:56.45 for the victory, just off her season best of 1:56.27 from the Mesa Grand Prix in April. Eryn Eddy of Loveland finished a distant second in 2:03.73, while NCAP\u2019s Isabella Rongione rounded out the top three in 2:05.40. Carter Griffin of the Denver Hilltoppers got to the wall first in the men\u2019s 200 free, as he touched in 1:54.80 to top NCAP\u2019s Matthew Hirschberger (1:55.46) by about six tenths. Nic Munoz of The Woodlands claimed third in 1:55.83.<\/p>\n
In the women\u2019s 100 back final, Bridgette McNally of the Denver Hilltoppers passed Jennifer Reese of The Woodlands down the stretch to take the win, 1:05.37 to 1:05.50. Carly Pratt, also of The Woodlands, swam a 1:06.01 to finish third. Meanwhile, Carter Griffin of the Denver Hilltoppers earned his second victory of the night with a 56.19 in the men\u2019s event. Will Countie of Marlins of Raleigh finished more than two and a half seconds back in 58.86, while Ryan Ball of Loveland picked up third in 59.06.<\/p>\n
Ledecky put her versatility on display with an outstanding effort of 4:43.92 in the women\u2019s 400 IM. That ranks 33rd<\/sup> in the world this year and is a personal best for Ledecky. Her previous best time had been a 5:00.29 from the Virginia Long Course State Championships in 2011. Haley Rowley of the Denver Hilltoppers touched second in 4:54.66, while Isabella Rongione picked up another podium finish with a third place effort of 4:58.29. Justin Ress of the Marlins of Raleigh dominated the men\u2019s 400 IM final, winning by almost five seconds in 4:31.60. Ryan Ball of Loveland finished in 4:36.08 for second, while Gavin Springer of Nation\u2019s Capital came in third at 4:37.64.<\/p>\n After winning the 50 breast last night, Loveland\u2019s Morgan Friesen swept the sprint breaststroke events with a 1:12.58 in the women\u2019s 100 breast. Kirsten Vose of Rose Bowl touched second in 1:13.01, while Brooke Hansen of Loveland stopped the clock in 1:13.95 for third. Silas Dejean of Crawfish Aquatics claimed the men\u2019s 100 breast title with a 1:04.88, comfortably ahead of The Woodlands\u2019 Ryan Sorensen (1:06.55). Nick Hatanaka of Loveland hit the wall third in 1:06.77.<\/p>\n Loveland\u2019s quartet of Bayley Stewart, Morgan Friesen, Brooke Hansen and Eryn Eddy brought home the women\u2019s 400 medley relay victory in 4:22.43, just ahead of Rose Bowl\u2019s 4:23.74. Nation\u2019s Capital came in third at 4:26.37. Rose Bowl captured the men\u2019s 400 medley relay title in a nail-biter over the Denver Hilltoppers as Michael Forbes, Wesley Chang, Sascha Subarsky and Corey John prevailed, 3:57.44 to 3:57.48.
