San Antonio College <a href=\"https:\/\/usawaterpolo.org\/news\/2024\/1\/17\/general-mt-san-antonio-college-usa-water-polo-adopt-memo-of-understanding-for-water-polo-training-competition.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">on Wednesday announced<\/a> a memorandum of understanding on a partnership for use of the school\u2019s new aquatics complex as a base for the national team.<\/p>\n<p>The complex, opened in the spring of 2023, will host the U.S. men\u2019s water polo team as it readies for the Paris Olympics this summer. The training hub will hold competitions, including test events for the men\u2019s and women\u2019s national teams. USA Water Polo will also shift member events like the Masters National Champions and age-group selection camps to Mt. San Antonio College.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/category\/water-polo\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Water Polo News<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&#8220;We look forward to our new relationship with USA Water Polo and are thankful to have the opportunity to partner with them,&#8221; said <strong>Dr. Martha Garcia,<\/strong> President\/CEO of Mt. San Antonio College. &#8220;We are excited at what the future holds and the opportunities that await the College and our students. It is especially exhilarating to expose our students to these world-class athletes and for them to see their dreams are possible.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The college\u2019s aquatics complex is a 110,000 square foot facility in Walnut, Los Angeles County. It has a 59-meter competition pool, 30-meter teaching\/diving pool and four competition diving boards. It can seat up to 5,000 spectators with deployment of temporary seating. Mt. San Antonio College is the largest single campus community college in California with an enrollment of more than 50,000 students.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Mt. San Antonio College is a longtime proponent of the Olympic movement and its new aquatics complex is consistent with that exceptional commitment to excellence &#8211; it is truly one of the finest aquatics centers in the world,&#8221; USA Water Polo CEO <strong>Christopher Ramsey<\/strong> said. &#8220;We are fortunate to embark in this partnership, and I want to thank President Garcia and her colleagues for their vision of what water polo can mean to their student body and their community. Having the men&#8217;s national water polo team training at Mt. SAC builds on their excitement in our journey to the Paris Olympic Games.
