Georgia Sweeps Florida State, Vanderbilt (Women) as Jack Bauerle Honored<\/strong><\/p>\n

After defeating Auburn last week, the Georgia Bulldogs returned home and took care of business against Florida State’s women and men plus the Vanderbilt women, but before racing got started, Georgia honored longtime head coach\u00a0Jack Bauerle<\/strong> by dedicating the team’s facility as “Bauerle Pool at Gabrielsen Natatorium.” On the women’s side,\u00a0Stefanie Williams Moreno’s\u00a0<\/strong>team won 180-117 over Florida State and 219-61 over Vanderbilt, with the Seminoles also taking down Vandy (230-61).\u00a0Neil Versfeld’s<\/strong> men’s team won 193-107 over FSU.<\/p>\n

Abby McCulloh<\/strong>, Ebonia McCarty\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0Zoie Hartman<\/strong> were all double winners for the Georgia women. McCulloh swam times of 9:30.61 in the 1000 freestyle and 4:39.58 in the 500 free while McCarty topped the 50 free (22.63) and 100 backstroke (51.57). Hartman got the better of the field in both breaststroke events, the 100 (59.18) and 200 (2:09.14). In diving,\u00a0Meghan Wenzel<\/strong> won on 3-meter (331.95) and 1-meter (305.10).<\/p>\n

Sloan Reinstein<\/strong> topped the 200 free in 1:45.25, holding off fast-finishing teammates\u00a0Dune Coetzee\u00a0<\/strong>(1:45.37) and Hartman (1:45.45).\u00a0Helena Jones<\/strong> was the winner in the 100 free in 48.43, with\u00a0Millie Sansome<\/strong> following up with a 200 back triumph (1:56.40).\u00a0Mia Abruzzo<\/strong> won the 400 IM in 4:17.34, and the team of Jones, McCarty,\u00a0Bri Roberson<\/strong> and Reinstein comfortably won the 400 free relay in 3:16.24.<\/p>\n

Florida State’s women scored a 200 medley relay win in 1:37.16 behind\u00a0Sarah Evans<\/strong>,\u00a0Maddy Huggins<\/strong>,\u00a0Jenny Halden<\/strong> and\u00a0Gloria Muzito<\/strong>. Later,\u00a0Edith Jernstedt<\/strong> finished first in the 200 butterfly (1:56.45), and she later won the 100 fly as well (53.50), with Halden coming in just two hundredths behind and Sophie Freeman<\/strong> completing the 1-2-3 sweep.<\/p>\n
