{"id":575789,"date":"2024-01-09T20:46:20","date_gmt":"2024-01-10T03:46:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/?p=575789"},"modified":"2024-01-09T20:46:20","modified_gmt":"2024-01-10T03:46:20","slug":"floridas-adam-chaney-isabel-ivey-lead-sec-weekly-honors","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/floridas-adam-chaney-isabel-ivey-lead-sec-weekly-honors\/","title":{"rendered":"Florida\u2019s Adam Chaney, Isabel Ivey Lead SEC Weekly Honors"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Florida\u2019s Adam Chaney, Isabel Ivey Lead SEC Weekly Honors<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Florida\u2019s <strong>Adam Chaney<\/strong> and <strong>Isabel Ivey<\/strong> were named this week\u2019s men\u2019s and women\u2019s swimmer of the week in the SEC Weekly Honors <a href=\"https:\/\/www.secsports.com\/article\/39273752\/jan-9\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">announced Tuesday<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Florida also had the female diver of the week in <strong>Ana Monroy.<\/strong> Chaney shared his honor with Georgia\u2019s <strong>Jake Magahey.<\/strong> The Bulldogs also put forth both freshmen of the week, <strong>Tomas Koski<\/strong> and <strong>Helena Jones. Bryden Hattie<\/strong> of Tennessee is the men\u2019s diver of the week.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/meet\/sec-swimming\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">SEC Swimming News<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Chaney won the 50 freestyle <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/florida-honors-seniors-with-sec-sweep-of-south-carolina\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">in a dual meet victory over South Carolina<\/a> in a time of 20.42 seconds. The senior also led the Gators\u2019 winning 400 medley relay and 400 free relays.<\/p>\n<p>Magahey won three times <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/zoie-hartman-jake-magahey-lead-georgia-bulldogs-to-sweep-of-auburn\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">to lead Georgia over Auburn<\/a>. He went 4:23.15 in the 500 free, 9:12.87 in the 1,000 free and 1:45.73 in the 200 butterfly. The senior was also part of the second-place 400 free relay.<\/p>\n<p>Hattie won twice at the Tennessee Diving Invitational on his home boards. He scored 479.20 points to capture the platform title. His tally on 3-meter was 404.75 for victory. He finished seventh in the 1-meter springboard.<\/p>\n<p>Koski won the 200 free in the meet against Auburn. He went 1:35.41 to pick up his fourth dual meet victory of the season. He finished second to Magahey in the 500 free and was on the second-place 400 free relay.<\/p>\n<p>Ivey won twice in Florida\u2019s victory over South Carolina. The senior finished first in two events, winning the 100 breaststroke in 1:01.66 and the 100 fly in 52.58. She also took part in the winning 400 medley relay.<\/p>\n<p>Monroy picked up two victories in Knoxville at the Tennessee Invitational. The freshman from Mexico scored 313.80 points to win the 3-meter competition and 307.70 to capture the platform gold. She was fourth on 1-meter and helped the Gators win the team event.<\/p>\n<p>Jones won two individual events and a relay in Georgia\u2019s win over Auburn. She posted a time of 22.70 seconds to win the 50 free, then clocked in at 49.17 to secure the 100 free.
