{"id":575777,"date":"2024-01-09T13:14:02","date_gmt":"2024-01-09T20:14:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/?p=575777"},"modified":"2024-01-09T13:14:02","modified_gmt":"2024-01-09T20:14:02","slug":"pac-12-honors-uscs-anicka-delgado-arizona-states-zalan-sarkany-lead-awards","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/pac-12-honors-uscs-anicka-delgado-arizona-states-zalan-sarkany-lead-awards\/","title":{"rendered":"Pac-12 Honors: USC&#8217;s Anicka Delgado, Arizona State&#8217;s Zalan Sarkany Lead Awards"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Pac-12 Conference announced its swimmers and divers of the week.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><strong>PAC-12 WOMEN\u2019S SWIMMER OF THE WEEK: Anicka Delgado, Sr., USC (Laguna Hills, Calif.)<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li dir=\"ltr\">Against UNLV the senior won a pair of individual events and swam on a championship relay to help USC to a 168-89 sweep the Rebels.<\/li>\n<li dir=\"ltr\">Captured first place finishes in the 50 Free (23.35) and 100 Fly (55.14), going on to swim a 23.55 split in the Trojan\u2019s winning 200 Free relay (1:33.73).<\/li>\n<li dir=\"ltr\">Picked up a second place finish behind another Trojan quad in the 200 Medley, swimming a 23.87 Fly split to take second (1:42.17).<\/li>\n<li dir=\"ltr\">First career Pac-12 Women\u2019s Swimmer of the Week award.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><strong>PAC-12 WOMEN\u2019S DIVER OF THE WEEK: Holly Waxman, Jr., UTAH (Leeds, England)<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li dir=\"ltr\">Putting together her first two-win performance of the season, Waxman helped the Utes to their 219-81 win over Colorado Meda.<\/li>\n<li dir=\"ltr\">On the 1 Meter the Junior tallied 289.95 followed by a pileup of 312.53 points on the 3 Meter to earn her two NCAA Championship qualifying marks.<\/li>\n<li dir=\"ltr\">Third career Pac-12 Women\u2019s Diver of the Month\/Week award and second this season (Jan. 30, 2023; November 2023).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><strong>ALSO NOMINATED:\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><strong>WOMEN\u2019S SWIMMER OF THE WEEK:\u00a0<\/strong>Kelsey Wasikowski, ARIZ; Ana Jin-Schiff, UCLA; Erin Palmer, UTAH.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><strong>WOMEN\u2019S DIVER OF THE WEEK:\u00a0<\/strong>Brooke Earley, ARIZ.<\/p>\n<div>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><strong>PAC-12 MEN\u2019S SWIMMER OF THE WEEK: Zalan Sarkany, So., ASU (Budapest, Hungary)\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li dir=\"ltr\">In his first meet of the season the sophomore broke two school and one personal record, swimming a time that topped the 2023 NCAA Champion.<\/li>\n<li dir=\"ltr\">In his 1650 Free swim, Sarkany broke his own program record with a time of 14:28.09.
