Longhorns Land 2025 Verbal From In-Stater John Simmons<\/strong><\/p>\n

NEW COMMIT:\u00a0<\/strong>The University of Texas has picked up a new verbal commitment for its growing class of 2029, this time from in-state standout\u00a0John Simmons\u00a0<\/strong>of Humble, Texas.<\/p>\n

He will join\u00a0Clem Camacho<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>and Evan Conti<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>in Austin as a member of the Longhorns\u2019 Class of 2025.<\/p>\n

Regarding his commitment, he said:<\/p>\n

\u201cI am thrilled to announce my verbal commitment to swim and study at the University of Texas at Austin! I\u2019d like to thank the many special people who have supported me along the way to attaining this dream. First and foremost, I\u2019d like to thank my parents and siblings who were there for all the peaks and valleys I\u2019ve encountered throughout life. Your unwavering love and support mean the world to me. Thanks to my teammates and friends for challenging me in practice everyday, and keeping me happy through hard times. I also wouldn\u2019t be able to swim at the collegiate level without the guidance and support from my coaches. Thank you Coach Chris, Coach Pink, Coach Matt, and Coach H. Simmons, who does his club swimming with Blue Tide Aquatics, had a great showing recently a Juniors West. Not only did he earn best times in all of his events, but he won the B-final of the 200 free and placed 21st in the 500 free.<\/p>\n

This past summer, he was a multi-time finalist at San Antonio Futures. Simmons finished fourth in the 200m free, eighth in 100m free and 16th in the 100m back.<\/p>\n
