Not among them is the site of the year\u2019s biggest open water race, the Olympic course in Paris.<\/p>\n<p>The circuit kicks off in March and will run through the fall, with the dates of the fifth and final stop in Israel still to be determined. (Global tensions in the region may play into that at this juncture.)<\/p>\n<p>The 2024 circuit:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Soma Bay, Egypt, March 23-24<\/li>\n<li>Golfo Aranci, Italy, May 25-26<\/li>\n<li>Setubal, Portugal, June 1-2<\/li>\n<li>Hong Kong, China, Oct. 26-27<\/li>\n<li>Eliat, Israel, TBD<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Eliat was to be the final stop on the 2023 Open Water World Cup in December, but the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/world-aquatics-moves-open-water-world-cup-stop-from-israel-to-portugal\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">venue was moved to Funchal, Portugal<\/a>, after war erupted between Israel and Palestine.<\/p>\n<p>The venues span three continents, many of them frequent destinations for the elite open water swimmers.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEvery stop of the World Aquatics Open Water World Cup 2024 provides something extraordinary, from the crystal-clear waters of Soma Bay to the Hong Kong skyline,\u201d World Aquatics President <strong>Husain Al-Musallam <\/strong>said <a href=\"https:\/\/www.worldaquatics.com\/news\/3774961\/world-aquatics-unveils-iconic-locations-for-the-open-water-world-cup-2024\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">in a press release<\/a>. \u201cNext year promises to be a really special one for open water swimming.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The tour includes several familiar venues.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Sardinia is a second home for many of us who compete in open water swimming. It\u2019s always a joy to race there,\u201d German swimmer <strong>Leonie Beck<\/strong> said in a World Aquatics release, referencing Golfo Aranci.<\/p>\n<p>Conspicuous in its absence on the slate is Paris.
