Nate Murray Appointed as Head Coach of South Carolina Swim Club<\/strong><\/p>\n

Former University of Tennessee team captain\u00a0Nate Murray<\/strong> is the new head coach of the South Carolina Swim Club, based in Mt. Pleasant, S.C., with an additional location in North Charleston. Murray grew up swimming in the Charlotte area before specializing in backstroke events during his time with the Volunteers, reaching the consolation finals at the SEC Championships and qualifying for the U.S. Olympic Trials, although he did not participate in the 2021 selection meet after the originally-scheduled 2020 meet was postponed due to COVID-19.<\/p>\n

Murray is beginning his fourth professional season as a year-round coach, including his third with SCSC. He lead groups of 10-and-under, 11-12 and college swimmers at SwimMAC Carolina, also the club for which he grew up swimming, before he moved to Charleston in 2021. At SCSC, he has coached all age groups in various capacities, and he currently coaches 12-18-year-old athletes across both of the club’s training locations. He is also the Age Group Committee chair for the South Carolina LSC.<\/p>\n
