{"id":571720,"date":"2023-10-27T19:51:53","date_gmt":"2023-10-28T02:51:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/?p=571720"},"modified":"2023-10-27T19:51:53","modified_gmt":"2023-10-28T02:51:53","slug":"stanford-swims-past-arkansas-led-by-caroline-bricker-aurora-roghair","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/stanford-swims-past-arkansas-led-by-caroline-bricker-aurora-roghair\/","title":{"rendered":"Stanford Swims Past Arkansas, led by Caroline Bricker, Aurora Roghair"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Stanford freshman <strong>Caroline Bricker<\/strong> notched three personal bests on Friday afternoon to highlight a 161-133 victory over Arkansas to help push the Cardinal to 2-0 on the year.<\/p>\n<p>In just her second collegiate event, the Colorado Springs, Colo., native clocked new lifetime bests in the 200 fly (1:54.60), 200 breast (2:07.15), and the 400 IM (4:05.51), pacing the Stanford group with three race wins on the day.<\/p>\n<p>Not to be overshadowed, junior <strong>Aurora Roghair<\/strong> tallied a personal best of her own on Friday with a 9.34.36 time in the 1000 free, shaving over six seconds off her previous best from the NCAA Championships last year, where she finished with a time of 9:40.74. Roghair earned an event win in the 500 free with a 4:40.03.<\/p>\n<p>Sophomore <strong>Natalie Mannion<\/strong> also won a pair of races for the second straight meet, clocking a 1:45.70 for the 200 free race win, then a 1:55.56 to claim the 200 back event title. Rounding out the event winners for Stanford was <strong>Janelle Rudolph<\/strong> in the 100 back (54.41),<strong> Lucy Thomas<\/strong> in the 100 breast (59.42), and<strong> Gigi Johnson<\/strong> in the 100 fly (52.56).<\/p>\n<p>Stanford swept both relay races on the day with Rudolph, Thomas, Johnson, and<strong> Anna Shaw<\/strong> teaming up for the 200 medley relay win with a time of 1:39.23, while Thomas, Johnson, Shaw, and <strong>Lillie Nordmann<\/strong> earned a time of 3:16.97 in the 400 free relay.<\/p>\n<p>Action on the diving boards was highlight by a 1-2 finish in the 3-meter dive from <strong>Lauren Burch<\/strong> and <strong>Emilie Moore<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>For Arkansas, <strong>Bella Cothern<\/strong> had first place finishes in the 50 and 100 freestyle.
