The meet between Arizona State and NC State was unscored, following on the heels of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/hubert-kos-leads-arizona-state-in-impressive-win-over-nc-state-katharine-berkoff-dominates-for-wolfpack-women\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">a nonconference dual meet the night before<\/a> at Mona Plummer Aquatics Center.<\/p>\n<p>Marchand bested his young Canadian teammate by three tenths, <strong>Ilya Kharun<\/strong> going 52.79. NC State\u2019s <strong>Aidan Hayes<\/strong> was third in 53.11, with <strong>Hubert Kos<\/strong> .02 behind.<\/p>\n<p>Marchand also went 55.32 in the 100 back, finishing third to NC State grad student <strong>Kacper Stokowski,<\/strong> who went 54.07, and Kos in 54.76. Marchand won the 200 free in 1:49.16, ahead of teammate <strong>Patrick Sammon\u2019s<\/strong> 1:49.43.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/thesundevils.com\/documents\/2023\/10\/21\/ASU_vs_NCST_10.21.23_-_No_Pros.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Meet Results<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Kharun won the 200 fly in 1:57.94.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Katharine Berkoff<\/strong> romped to a win in the 100 backstroke for NC State, clocking in at 59.19.<\/p>\n<p>Without <strong>Johnny Kulow<\/strong> at the Pan Am Games for the United States, Arizona State\u2019s depth sprinters got to show their stuff. Sammon won the 100 free in 49.67, with <strong>Jack Dolan<\/strong> .18 back. Dolan went 22.86 in the 50 free, which was second. Kharun finished sixth in 23.36. For the Canadian teen, that\u2019s just off his best of 23.31, set in March.<\/p>\n<p>NC State freshman <strong>Quintin McCarty<\/strong> won the 50 free in 22.82. <strong>Noah Henderson<\/strong> was third for the Wolfpack in 22.99.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Lindsay Looney<\/strong> put together a couple of solid swims. She was quickest in the 200 butterfly in 2:13.16. She went 1:01.44 in the 100 fly, behind the impressive 1:00.24 set by <strong>Abby Arens<\/strong> of NC State. Looney also went 2:04.20 in the 200 free, behind teammate <strong>Ieva Maluka,<\/strong> who went 2:03.11. Maluka was second in the 200 individual medley to teammate <strong>Charli Brown,<\/strong> who went 2:15.83. Brown was also second in the 400 free.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ross Dant<\/strong> went 3:54.67 to win the 400 free for NC State.<\/p>\n<p><strong>JT Ewing<\/strong> put together an impressive 200 backstroke, winning in 1:58.86. It\u2019s just a second off his best time of 1:57.76 from nationals this summer.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Deniz Ertan<\/strong> picked up a couple of wins for Arizona State.
