World Juniors Champion Maximus Williamson Gives UVA Another Big 2025 Verbal<\/strong><\/p>\n

NEW COMMIT:\u00a0<\/strong>The University of Virginia has scored another big verbal commitment in a matter of hours, as\u00a0Maximus Williamson\u00a0<\/strong>of Southlake, Texas has verbaled to the Cavaliers’ Class of 2025.<\/p>\n

Williamson owns the fastest times in the class in the 100 free, 200 free, 500 free, 100 back, 200 back and 400 IM. He is the boys’ 15-16 National Age Group record holder in the 200 free, 200 back and 400 IM.<\/p>\n

He will join\u00a0Thomas Heilman<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>in Charlottesville. Williamson and Heilman are arguably the top two recruits in their class.<\/p>\n

Regarding his commitment, he said:<\/p>\n

“I\u2019m excited to announce my verbal commitment to continue my academic and athletic career at the University of Virginia! I would like to thank the coaches and my family for giving me this opportunity and for supporting me along the way. GO HOOS”<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Williamson most recently won the 100m free and 200m IM at the World Junior Championships. His time of 1:57.29 in the 200m IM broke the boys’17-18 NAG record. His 4x200m free relay split of 1:47.11 is ranked eighth all-time in 17-18 age group history, too.<\/p>\n

He won gold medals in the 100 free, 200 free, 100 back, 200 back, 200 IM and 400 IM at Juniors West last December. Williamson earned gold in the 200m IM and silver in the 200m free at Junior Pan Pacs last summer.<\/p>\n

He does his club swimming with Lakeside Aquatic Club.<\/p>\n
