North Carolina State Champ Mere Whelehan Pledges 2025 Verbal to Lady Vols<\/strong><\/p>\n

NEW COMMIT:\u00a0<\/strong>The University of Tennessee has picked up another impressive verbal commitment for Fall 2025, this time from U.S. Open qualifier Meredith “Mere” Whelehan<\/strong> of Cary, North Carolina.<\/p>\n

She will join\u00a0Avery Luedke <\/strong><\/a>and\u00a0Lilly Robertson<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>as a member of the Lady Vols\u2019 Class of 2029.<\/p>\n

She told\u00a0Swimming World:<\/em><\/p>\n

“I\u2019m so incredibly grateful to announce my verbal commitment to swim and study at the University of Tennessee!! I\u2019d like to thank my parents, siblings, coaches, teammates and friends for all of their support throughout this process. A special thanks to Matt Kredich for giving me this opportunity to be a lady vol\ud83c\udf4a Go Vols”<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

A rangy freestyler, Whelehan dos her club swimming with TAC Titans and finaled in the 200m free and 400m free this past summer at Ocala Futures. She earned silver in the 200 free and 500 free at Cary Sectionals back in March, earning respective 11th and 17th place finishes in those events at Juniors East in December.<\/p>\n
