Penn State Adds Kyle Walthall to Coaching Staff<\/strong><\/p>\n

Kyle Walthall<\/strong> has been hired as an assistant coach for Penn State\u2019s men\u2019s and women\u2019s swimming teams, the school announced Friday.<\/p>\n

Walthall comes to Happy Valley from Ashland University, a Division II program in Ohio where he was the head coach<\/a> for five seasons after two as an assistant coach. He helped qualify several swimmers to NCAAs there, leading the Eagles to a second-place men\u2019s finish and a third-place women\u2019s finish at the Great Midwest Athletic Conference\/Mountain East Conference Championships last year.<\/p>\n

Walthall was an assistant coach at Barton College in North Carolina, also in Division II.<\/p>\n

He swam at York College in Pennsylvania, where he won a NCAA Division III title in the men\u2019s 100 breaststroke<\/a>. A six-time All-American, he was the Capital Athletic Conference Rookie of the Year in 2013 and the Swimmer of the Year in 2014 and 2016.
