Notre Dame Lands Big 2025 Verbal From National Junior Teamer Nathan Szobota <\/strong><\/p>\n

NEW COMMIT:\u00a0<\/strong>The University of Notre Dame has landed a huge verbal commitment for Fall 2025 from Olympic Trials qualifier\u00a0Nathan Szobota\u00a0<\/strong>of Richmond, Va.<\/p>\n

He currently owns the fastest 1000 free time in the boys’ Class of 2025.<\/p>\n

Szobota will join\u00a0Jackson Armour<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>as a member of the Fighting Irish’s Class of 2029.<\/p>\n

Regarding his commitment, he said:<\/p>\n

I want to thank my family, friends, coaches, and teachers for helping me become who I am today. I also want to thank the Notre Dame coaching staff for giving me this amazing opportunity. Szobota, who does his club swimming with NOVA Of Virginia Aquatics, represented the USA at the World Junior Championships this past summer where he placed 10th in the 1500m free.<\/p>\n

Throughout the summer, he earned Olympic Trials cuts in the 400m IM and 400m\/800m\/1500m free. He collected silver in the 800m free at Junior Nationals and took eighth in the mile at Phillips 66 Nationals. Back in the spring, he swept the 500\/1000\/1650 free at NCSA Championships.<\/p>\n
