Distance swimmer <strong>Olivia Frantum,<\/strong> like Swalley a freshman in her first collegiate meet, and <strong>Scarlet Martin<\/strong> also won two events.<\/p>\n<p>Swalley won the 100 breast in 1:03.01, a margin of more than three seconds. Her margin in the 200 breast was six seconds, in 2:18.73.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/storage.googleapis.com\/hawkeyesports-com\/2023\/10\/e6edee4f-iasd2324_100623_uni.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Results<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/meet\/big-ten-swimming\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Big Ten Swimming News<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Martin won the 200 fly in 2:02.74, easily besting teammate <strong>Mallory Kell.<\/strong> She added a win in the 100 fly in 54.51.<\/p>\n<p>Martin and Swalley were joined by <strong>Kennedy Gilbertson<\/strong> and <strong>Megan Hartlieb<\/strong> to go 1:41.81 to win the 200 medley relay. Hartleib won the 100 free and was third in the 50, a spot behind Gilbertson.<\/p>\n<p>Frantum led a 1-2 with teammate <strong>Alix O\u2019Brien<\/strong> in the 1,000 freestyle in a time of 10:19.69. She went 5:05.77 to lead teammate <strong>Sabina Kupcova<\/strong> in the 500 free. Kupcova had earlier won the 200 free. Annie Galvin won the 100 back in 56.06, edging UNI\u2019s <strong>Amber Finke<\/strong> by .04 seconds in the race of the day. The Hawkeyes dominated diving, with <strong>Makayla Hughbanks<\/strong> (312.60) winning 1-meter and <strong>Simone Benlich<\/strong> (262.30) winning 3-meter, with <strong>Sarah Ballard<\/strong> second in both.<\/p>\n<p>Northern Iowa had its moments, and it capped the day by winning the 200 free relay in 1:34.64, with the foursome of <strong>Faith Larsen, Clare Christensen, Abby Lear<\/strong> and <strong>Morgan Meyer.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Larsen sprinted to the win in the 50 free in 23.37. She was third in the 100 free, a spot and .01 seconds behind Meyer, who also finished second in the 200 free. Finke rebounded from the narrow loss in the 100 back by winning the 200 and also finished second to Swalley in the 200 IM.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Olivia Swalley Wins
