Andrew Shackell To Join Twin Sister, Alex, At Cal In 2025<\/strong><\/p>\n

NEW COMMIT:\u00a0<\/strong>The University of California, Berkeley has picked up its first verbal commitment for the men’s Class of 2025 from\u00a0Andrew Shackell\u00a0<\/strong>of Carmel, Indiana.<\/p>\n

His twin sister,\u00a0Alex Shackell<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>– arguably the top recruit in her class – has also verbally committed to the Golden Bears. Their older brother,\u00a0Aaron Shackell<\/strong>, is currently a freshman on the men’s team at Cal.<\/p>\n

Regarding his commitment, he said:<\/p>\n

\u201cI am very excited to announce my verbal commitment to the University of California Berkeley to continue my swimming and academic careers. I\u2019d like to thank all the coaches who helped me as well as my parents for supporting me. Go Bears \ud83d\udc3b!\u201d<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Shackell trains year-round with Carmel Swim Club and most recently placed 13th in the 200m fly at Junior Nationals this past summer. He had a great showing at Indy Sectionals in March, earning six best times and placing as high as sixth in the 200m free.<\/p>\n
