USA Swimming Unveils 94 Swimmers on 2023-24 U.S. National Team<\/strong><\/p>\n

USA Swimming on Monday unveiled the 94 swimmers on the 2023-24 U.S. National Team.<\/p>\n

The team is sponsored by Toyota. It includes 27 first-timers. Kate Douglass<\/strong> leads the way by qualifying for the team in six events, while Katie Ledecky<\/strong> and Regan Smith<\/strong> were each selected in five events. Seven swimmers qualified for the squad in four events.<\/p>\n

Team members are selected based on times at sanctioned competitions between Jan. 1, 2023 and Sept. 9. The team comprises the top six fastest in each individual Olympic event. (Full selection criteria is here<\/a>.)<\/p>\n

The average age of the team is 21.7 years old. Among the newcomers to the roster are World Championships team members Jack Alexy, Chris Giuliano, Thomas Heilman, Josh Matheny<\/strong> and Alex Shackell.<\/strong> Many of the standouts of the recent World Aquatics Championships, including Kayla Han<\/strong> and Maximus Williamson,<\/strong> are represented. Nineteen of the 27 newcomers are on the men\u2019s side.<\/p>\n
