Prelims<\/h4>\n<p><strong>Petar Mitsin<\/strong>, <strong>Leah Hayes<\/strong>, <strong>Miroslav Knedla<\/strong> and <strong>Oleksandr Zheltyakov <\/strong>safely negotiated the prelims\u00a0 as the <strong>World Junior Championships<\/strong> got under way in Netanya, Israel.<\/p>\n<p>The meet runs from 4-9 September and features almost 650 athletes from 94 countries.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.omegatiming.com\/2023\/world-aquatics-junior-swimming-championships-live-results\">Link to results<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4>Men&#8217;s 400m Freestyle<\/h4>\n<p>Mitsin set a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/petar-mitsin-sets-wjr-of-344-31-in-400-free-at-european-juniors-lowers-mack-hortons-2014-mark\/\">WJR of 3:44.31 en-route to gold<\/a> at the <strong>European Juniors<\/strong> in July and he lined up in the final of seven heats.<\/p>\n<p>The Bulgarian headed the prelims in 3:50.52 ahead of European Junior silver medallist <strong>Alessandro Ragaini<\/strong> (3:50.65) and Canada&#8217;s <strong>Lorne Winnington<\/strong> (3:50.72).<\/p>\n<p>Also through was <strong>Vlad Stancu<\/strong>, European junior bronze
