SWIMATLANTA&#39;S Amanda Weir, 17, cracked the US Girls 17-18 national age group record in the 100 meter freestyle last weekend at the Southern Sectional championship meet at the University of Georgia in Athens.  In the process, she cracked the 55-second barrier with her 54.99.<\/p>\n<p>Weir led all the way over an impressive field that included former Georgia ace  Stefanie Williams (second in 55.89), 2000 Olympian Courtney Shealey (third, 56.26) and 2003 NCAA runner-up Becky Short (fourth, 57.28).  Out in 26.82, she came back strongly in 28.17.<\/p>\n<p>Weir now simultaneously holds sprint freestyle records in four different age groups:  11-12, 50 yards; 13-14, 50 meters and 100 yards; 15-16, 50 and 100 yards; and 17-18, 100 meters.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>ATHENS, Georgia, July 21.
