You&#8217;re usually the fastest among your competitors, and the records in this new age group are ripe for the picking.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"470\" height=\"315\" src=\"\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/PI0_WLG3n-U?rel=0&#038;autoplay=1\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><br \/>\n<b>YouTube Measures Views Only For Episodes Watched On YouTube.com<br \/>\nSubscribe to our YouTube channel, SwimmingWorldSPI!<\/b> <\/p>\n<p>David Radcliff is one of those people, and he has been taking advantage of just turning 80 and entering into the 80-84 age group this year with some amazing swims. Last weekend at a Masters meet in Oregon, Radcliff broke three world records in one race. Swimming in the 1500 long course freestyle, Radcliff hit the 400-meter mark in 5:53.32, beating the existing world record by almost 17 seconds. At 800 meters, Radcliff&#8217;s time was 11:51.43, a new world record by a full minute.<\/p>\n<p>When Radcliff hit the wall to finish his 1500 free, the time on the scoreboard read 22:16.90. That broke the Masters world record in the 1500 free by two minutes and 24 seconds. Usually when world records are broken, even in distance races, they are not obliterated by this much, and I&#8217;m sure Radcliff is just getting started. The long course season is just getting underway, and Radcliff could have his eyes on going even faster before this year is done.<\/p>\n<p>For now, David, we want to congratulate you on winning the Speedo Performance of the Week.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>PHOENIX, Arizona, June 3.
