MOSCOW, Russia, June 2. THE Energy Standard Championship, which took place this weekend in Moscow, featured some of the top European junior swimmers as teams from Russia, Hungary, Italy, Ukraine and Spain joined the host Energy Standard club to put up some strong times.<\/p>\n

The meet featured some strong swims throughout the two-day affair, but five of them truly stood out.<\/p>\n

Russia’s Egor Kuimov had the top swim of the boys 100-meter fly with a 54.94 for those born in 1998 or younger. That’s only a second off Alexander Kudashov’s Russian junior national record. Sergei Myrzin, also of Russia, put up a 54.98 to win among the 1996-97 date of birth swimmers.<\/p>\n

\n<\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Hungary’s Benjamin Gratz put up a sizzling top time in the boys 200-meter fly swims with a 1:58.79, which was more than two seconds better than any other swimmer in the two heats.<\/p>\n<p><b>Race Footage of Benjamin Gratz’s 200 fly<\/b><br \/>\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/AFcyna_BFuk?rel=0\" height=\"315\" width=\"560\" allowfullscreen=\"\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Gratz also collected the boys 200-meter back crown with a strong time of 2:02.45. Gratz, 18, recently joined Katinka Hosszu at the Hungarian national awards, where they were both awarded Hungarian Fair Play Awards. Gratz had tied for the eighth spot in prelims of the 50 fly against Daniel Dudas. The two wound up having two swimoffs, but Dudas’ goggles broke on the second swimoff. Gratz lent Dudas a pair prior to the final swimoff, with Dudas winning the final swimoff to gain entry into the finale at the 2013 Hungarian National Championships.<\/p>\n<p><b>Race Footage of Benjamin Gratz’s 200 back<\/b><br \/>\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/Bi0N6RXf_sg?rel=0\" height=\"315\" width=\"560\" allowfullscreen=\"\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Maryna Kolesnykova stood out in the girls 200-meter backstroke as the Energy Standard Team swimmer turned in a swift time of 2:14.77 in the 2000-and-younger category.<\/p>\n<p><b>Race Footage of Maryna Kolesnykova’s 200 back<\/b><br \/>\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/j3E63RwKghA?rel=0\" height=\"315\" width=\"560\" allowfullscreen=\"\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Italy’s Linda Caponi posted the only sub-9:00 swim for the girls 800-meter free as she dominated the distance event with an 8:47.07.
