COIMBRA, Portugal, June 1. VICTORIA Kaminskaya of the Pimpoes Swim Club, Portugal’s IM queen, lowered her own 400-meter IM national record. Kaminskaya put on a show in the distance medley to close out the Coimbra Invitational.<\/p>\n
Kaminskaya blasted her Portuguese national record in the women’s 400-meter IM with a 4:46.85. That effort crushed her previous record of 4:49.44 set just a month-and-a-half ago in Spain. That time had lowered a 2011 record of 4:50.28 set by Nadia Vieira at the Eindhoven Cup that year. Kaminskaya owns both of the IM records for Portugal, including a 2:17.21 in the 200-meter IM from Barcelona last summer. Magdalena Gomes Azevedo (5:03.77) and Ana Monica Eloi (5:08.39) took second and third in the finale.<\/p>\n
Ana Catarina Monteiro cruised to the title in the women’s 200-meter fly with a 2:13.98, while Sara Freitas Oliveira touched second in 2:16.82. Ana Beatriz Pereira claimed third overall in 2:21.09. Nuno Goncalo Quintanilha powered through the men’s 200-meter fly with a 2:03.30, while Pedro Andre Santos touched second in 2:06.07. Carlos Lopes Pedrosa snatched third in 2:06.54.<\/p>\n
Ana Sofia Leite tracked down the women’s 50-meter back with a time of 29.90, while Ines Camacho Fernandes placed second in 31.01. Francisca Gomes Azevedo picked up third in 31.22. Nathan Keith Theodoris hit the wall in 26.65 to win the men’s 50-meter backstroke. Miguel Freitas Marques (27.62) and Diogo Gomes Sousa (27.68) wound up second and third.<\/p>\n
Joana Patricia Pinto posted a time of 57.98 to win the women’s 100-meter free, while Diana Margarida Duraes picked up second in 59.43. Raquel Maurile Taveira placed third in 59.89. Miguel Duarte Nascimento posted a 50.92 to take the men’s 100-meter free crown. Luis Emanuel Vaz placed second in 51.41 with Alexandre Escudier Agostinho earning third in 51.49.<\/p>\n
Raquel Gomes Pereira topped the women’s 100-meter breaststroke with a 1:14.92, while Alges’ teammate Ana Beatriz Marques placed second in 1:15.78. Laura Catarina Abreu touched third in 1:15.92. Andre Gioncalo Santos won the men’s 100-meter breast in 1:04.98 with Francisco Robalo Quintas (1:06.35) and Nuno Goncalo Quintanilha (1:06.57) snatching second and third.<\/p>\n
Sara Freitas Oliveira took home the women’s 50-meter fly title in 28.14 with Ana Margarida Guedes (28.26) and Ana Catarina Monteiro (28.54) taking second and third. Tiago Andre Venancio then won the men’s 50-meter fly in 24.69. Pedro Andre Santos (25.16) and Gustavo Almeida Madureira (25.84) rounded out the top three.<\/p>\n
Catia Raquel Martinheira clocked a 2:19.28 to win the women’s 200-meter back, edging Francisca Gomes Azevedo in the process as Azevedo took second in 2:19.45. Tatiana Filipa Santos placed third in 2:23.00. Miguel Duarte Nascimento posted a 2:03.81 to easily win the men’s 200-meter back. Rodrigo Antonio Rosa finished second in 2:07.14 with Joao Mota Correia clinching third in 2:11.34.<\/p>\n
Tamila Hryhorivna Holub lowered her Portuguese junior record in the women’s 400-meter free with a 4:22.83. That performance best the 4:24.42 she set just in April. Filipa Vilas Ruivo took second in 4:25.80, while Florbela Cavaco Machado touched third in 4:27.39. Andre Filipa Farinha took down the men’s 400-meter free finale with a 4:00.26. Rafael Lourenco Gil (4:01.78) and Joao Pedro Gil (4:02.68) finished second and third in the middle distance event.<\/p>\n
Joao alexandre Vital posted a 4:32.66 in the men’s 400-meter IM, while Tomas Correia Silva (4:35.94) and Tomas Miguel Veloso (4:39.92) rounded out the top three in the distance medley.<\/p>\n
Ginasio Vila Real continued its mastery of the relays this weekend as Ana Carolina Guedes (28.03), Ana Sofia Nobrega (27.82), Joana Patricia Pinto (26.02) and Ana Sofia Leite (26.36) won the women’s 200-meter free relay in 1:48.22. Ana Sofia Leite (1:04.44), Ana Margarida Guedes (1:06.35), Joana Patricia Pinto (1:14.20) and Ana Sofia Nobrega (59.96) put up a 4:24.95 to win the women’s 400-meter medley relay.<\/p>\n
Nautico’s Mario Alexandre Pereira (24.75), Joao Barbosa Moreira (25.02), Tomas Miguel Veloso (24.53) and Miguel Silva Oliveira (24.63) took the men’s 200-meter free relay in 1:38.93.
