LONDON – The British Olympic Association (BOA) virtually ruled out a London bid for the 2008 Olympics, hoping, instead, to seek the 2012 Olympic Games. The BOA said that the decision was made because Toronto, Canada; Osaka, Japan; Seville, Spain; and Istanbul, Turkey want to host the 2008 Games. Buenos Aires, Argentina is also expected to make a bid. The BOA said it is unlikely the 2008 Games will be awarded to a European city since the 2004 Summer Olympics will be in Athens, Greece.
