He was 24 years old. The driver in the crash has been arrested and charged with vehicular homicide and driving under the influence.<\/p>\n<p>The program released a statement on Tuesday about Ben\u2019s passing.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"zxx\"><a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/VfnPElCXPh\">pic.twitter.com\/VfnPElCXPh<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Tennessee Swimming &amp; Diving (@Vol_SwimDive) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/Vol_SwimDive\/status\/1694040530663944255?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">August 22, 2023<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>Ben was one of three children of Matt and Kim. Ben lived with autism. He graduated from the University of Tennessee with a degree in music and played piano in local assisted living centers. (Kim is choral conductor who has devoted much of her life <a href=\"https:\/\/www.knoxnews.com\/restricted\/?return=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.knoxnews.com%2Fstory%2Fnews%2Feducation%2F2023%2F08%2F07%2Fparents-fight-for-special-education-rights-at-knox-county-schools%2F70360056007%2F\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">to working with children with disabilities<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p>In addition to his parents, Ben is survived by brothers Miles and Coleman.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAutism just seems like an adjective,\u201d Coleman Kredich said of his older brother. \u201cHe was always my brother; he wasn\u2019t my brother with autism. He was always a friend; he wasn\u2019t someone\u2019s friend with autism. And that was pretty incredible.\u201d<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/meet\/sec-swimming\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">SEC Swimming News<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Matt Kredich has been at Tennessee for most of his children\u2019s lives, arriving in Knoxville in 2005-06. A four-time SEC Women\u2019s Coach of the Year, he led the Vols to SEC titles in 2020 and 2022.<\/p>\n<p>Kredich was the head coach for Team USA\u2019s men\u2019s team at the 2019 Pan Am Games, the women at 2015 Pan Ams and the women\u2019s squad at the 2013 World University Games.
