IN an unfortunate incident in Ohio, New Richmond High School swim coach Joseph Middeler died in a freak lawnmower accident this weekend <a href=\"http:\/\/www.local12.com\/news\/features\/top-stories\/stories\/new-richmond-swim-coach-dies-lawnmower-accident-10787.shtml\" target=\"_blank\">according to local media reports<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Middeler, a 63-year-old head coach of the New Richmond High School swim team, died after a his riding lawnmover \u201crolled over an embankment and landed on top of him,\u201d while he was mowing his lawn this past weekend.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPlease keep the Middeler family as well as our NR family in your thoughts and prayers as we all lost a very special person,\u201d said NRHS athletic director Doug Foote.<\/p>\n<p>Middeler was a stalwart in the New Richmond community, having created the swim program at the middle school in the 90s before taking over varsity. In 2006, he was inducted into the school&#8217;s sports Hall of Fame and had also served as a substitute teacher for the past 25 years as well.<\/p>\n<p>According to Local12 News:<br \/>\n<i>Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, April 23 at the E. C. Nurre Funeral Home in Amelia. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Peter Church in New Richmond. Burial will be at St. Peter Cemetery. <\/i><\/p>\n<p>Middeler was the husband of Denise Middeler and father of Jennifer Slone (Rodney) and Katie Middeler (Christopher Flaugh) and brother of Judy Middeler, with whom he coached at New Richmond, Joyce Webb (Mac), and Janet Bishop (Paul).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>MOSCOW, Ohio, April 22.
