ANN ARBOR, MIchigan, May 18. IN the midst of heavy training, the magnificent Michael Phelps turned in two impressive swims on Day One of the Domino Classic in Ann Arbor, Michigan. <\/p>\n

Phelps, 17, who owns the world record in both the 200 meter butterfly and 400 meter IM, zipped through the 200 IM and 400 free to win with deceptive ease against two strong fields. The North Baltimore ace clocked 2:00.82 to take the medley and 3:49.93, a pr, to win the 400.<\/p>\n

Former University of Tennessee star, Ricky Busquets, representing Puerto Rico took the other men’s event, the 50 free in 23.21, ahead of Neil Walker.<\/p>\n

In the women’s 400 free, Amy McCullough upset national champion Diana Munz to win the 400 free in 4:17.62 — 13-hundredths ahead of Munz.<\/p>\n

Gabrielle Rose clocked 2:17.01 to win the 200m medley with Olympic breaststroker Kristy Kowal second.<\/p>\n

In the 50 free, former Univerrsity of Texas star, Colleen Lanne, edged Cal Swimming’s Haley Cope in the 50 free, touching in 26.04.<\/p>\n
