Stanford Lands Big 2024 Verbal From IMer Emily Thompson<\/strong><\/p>\n

NEW COMMIT:\u00a0<\/strong>Stanford University has received a huge verbal commitment for the Fall of 2024 from\u00a0Emily Thompson\u00a0<\/strong>of Basking Ridge, New Jersey.<\/p>\n

She will join Levenia Sim<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>as a member of the Cardinal’s Class of 2028.<\/p>\n

Regarding her commitment, she said:<\/p>\n

“I am elated to announce my verbal commitment to continue my academic and athletic career at Stanford University! So many thanks to my family, friends, coaches, and teachers for helping me achieve this lifelong dream of mine. I\u2019m looking forward to the next four years on the farm! GO TREES!!”<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

A versatile swimmer, Thompson does her club swimming with Greater Somerset County YMCA and most recently won the 200m IM at YMCA LCM Nationals, also earning silver in the 200m back and bronze in both the 100m back and 100m free. She qualified for finals of the 200m IM at Phillips 66 Nationals before that, finishing 23rd overall.<\/p>\n

Thompson also swept both IMs at YMCA SCY Nationals back in April. In December 2022, she was the 400 IM runner-up at Juniors East and took fifth in the 200 IM.<\/p>\n
