With a total of 93 new records (52 in men and 41 in women), the Masters National Short Course Meet in Mexico came to an end last Sunday May 4th. The event was held at the Club Dorados with an outstanding weather (average temperature of 91\u00b0F) and assistance of nearly 1000 swimmers of 52 teams from all over the country.<\/p>\n<p>The Casablanca Club swimming team is the new champion (total points) for this year followed by Acu\u00e1tica Nelson Vargas and IMSS on second and third places respectively.<\/p>\n<p>The most notable performers at this year\u2019s championship are: Rosa Mar\u00eda Segura, Ursula Sieber, Dulce Rojas, Laura Vaca, Lorena Pontones, Gabriela Berrueta, Alejandro Moreno, Samuel Jaime (91 years old), Abraham Rodr\u00edguez, Salvador S\u00e1nchez and Fernando N\u00e1jera.<\/p>\n<p>Much like the United States Masters Nationals, the final results by team were split into three different categories: 1 to 15 swimmers, 16 to 35 swimmers and 36 or more swimmers.  With this the final results were: (the number of event wins by each team are in parenthesis) <\/p>\n<p>1 to 15 swimmers<br \/>\n1ST. ACUAGYM GUADALAJARA (21 GOLD MEDALS)<br \/>\n2ND. ACALLI GUADALAJARA (15 GOLD MEDALS)<br \/>\n3RD. CUICACALI EDO. MEX. (10 GOLD MEDALS)<\/p>\n<p>16 to 35 swimmers<br \/>\n1ST. IMSS MORELIA (11 GOLD MEDALS)<br \/>\n2ND. CENSODEP (8 GOLD MEDALS)<br \/>\n3RD. BERIMBAU (5 GOLD MEDALS) <\/p>\n<p>36 or more swimmers<br \/>\n1ST. CASABLANCA (101 GOLD MEDALS)<br \/>\n2ND. ACUATICA NELSON VARGAS (92 GOLD MEDALS)<br \/>\n3RD.
