But her greatest mark &#8211; a lifesaving one &#8211; arrived last year, when <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/a-sport-of-heroes-bond-between-crissy-perham-and-dick-franklin-through-kidney-donation-shows-latest-way-swimmers-inspire\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Perham donated a kidney to Dick Franklin<\/a>, the father of Olympic champion Missy Franklin. The selfless act not only saved the life of Mr. Franklin, it cast a much-needed spotlight on the importance of organ donation.<\/p>\n<p>Now, the Franklin family is preparing to celebrate the beauty of Perham&#8217;s gesture, and the wonder of Perham as a person.
