before going on to take three at <strong>London 2012<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>And that eight-medal haul at <strong>Barcelona 2003<\/strong> was followed a year later by two for Britain at <strong>Athens 2004<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Furniss said:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cTo have good results is encouraging and it gives you a platform but it\u2019s not ever a predictor for what will happen at the Olympic Games.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf you look historically at all the World Champs a year before the Olympics some people do well, a lot of people do well, but a lot of people fall by the wayside and new people come up.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSo we have to say this is good, it\u2019s a good platform and move forward from there to do the best we can.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>British Swimming Head Coach Bill Furniss Expresses Pride;
