World Championships: 10 100-Meter Medalists in Medley Relay Heats (Full Lineups)<\/strong><\/p>\n

The United States will have a pair of individual bronze medalists swimming the leadoff legs of their 400 medley relays during the final morning of prelims at the World Championships in Fukuoka.\u00a0Katharine Berkoff<\/strong>, the third-place finisher in the women’s 100 backstroke behind Australia’s Kaylee McKeown<\/strong> and American teammate\u00a0Regan Smith<\/strong>, will participate in the heats, and so will\u00a0Hunter Armstrong<\/strong> after he finished behind fellow American Ryan Murphy<\/strong> and Italy’s\u00a0Thomas Ceccon<\/strong> in the 100 back.<\/p>\n

Several other individual 200-meter medalists will also compete in their respective countries’ preliminary squads, including Americans Lydia Jacoby<\/strong> and\u00a0Torri Huske<\/strong>, the Netherlands’ Marrit Steenbergen<\/strong>, Canada’s\u00a0Maggie Mac Neil<\/strong>, Italy’s\u00a0Thomas Ceccon<\/strong> and\u00a0Nicolo Martinenghi<\/strong>, Canada’s\u00a0Josh Liendo <\/strong>and France’s Maxime Grousset<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

On the women’s side, Berkoff will be joined by\u00a0Jacoby, Huske and\u00a0Abbey Weitzeil<\/strong>. With Jacoby swimming in prelims, it is likely that\u00a0Lilly King<\/strong> will enter for finals alongside\u00a0Smith, Huske and\u00a0Kate Douglass<\/strong>. Australia, looking to complete a sweep of the women’s relays, will have\u00a0Madison Wilson<\/strong>,\u00a0Abbey Harkin<\/strong>,\u00a0Brianna Throssell<\/strong> and\u00a0Meg Harris<\/strong> in prelims, with Harkin likely to remain in the finals quartet alongside McKeown,\u00a0Emma McKeon<\/strong> and\u00a0Mollie O’Callaghan<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Also in prelims,\u00a0Sarah Sjostrom<\/strong> will anchor Sweden’s relay after sisters\u00a0Sophie Hansson<\/strong> and\u00a0Louise Hansson<\/strong> while 200 breast bronze medalist\u00a0Tes Schouten<\/strong> and 100 free bronze medalist\u00a0Steenbergen swim for the Netherlands. China will swim\u00a0Yang Yichun<\/strong> on butterfly in prelims, with world champion\u00a0Zhang Yufei<\/strong> sure to come in at night. Canada, meanwhile, won’t take any chances as Mac Neil will handle fly in the morning.<\/p>\n

The U.S. men will see Armstrong joined by\u00a0Josh Matheny<\/strong>,\u00a0Thomas Heilman<\/strong> and\u00a0Matt King<\/strong>, setting up a squad of Murphy, Nic Fink<\/strong>,\u00a0Dare Rose<\/strong> and\u00a0Jack Alexy<\/strong> at night. The Americans will race alongside Australia, with\u00a0Bradley Woodward<\/strong>,\u00a0Sam Williamson<\/strong>,\u00a0Matt Temple<\/strong> and\u00a0Kai Taylor<\/strong> in the morning, with\u00a0Zac Stubblety-Cook\u00a0<\/strong>(breaststroke) and\u00a0Kyle Chalmers\u00a0<\/strong>(freestyle) likely to enter at night.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, co-favorite China will swim two lanes over from the U.S. men in prelims with Xu Jiayu<\/strong>,\u00a0Yan Zibei<\/strong>,\u00a0Sun Jiajun<\/strong> and Wang Haoyu<\/strong> in prelims, with Xu likely to return for the final alongside\u00a0Qin Haiyang<\/strong>,\u00a0Wang Changhao<\/strong> and\u00a0Pan Zhanle<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Italy, last year’s world champion in this relay, goes with\u00a0Ceccon,\u00a0Martinenghi,\u00a0Piero Codia\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0Manuel Frigo<\/strong> in the morning.\u00a0Federico Burdisso\u00a0<\/strong>(fly) and\u00a0Alessandro Miressi\u00a0<\/strong>(free) could enter in the final.\u00a0Oliver Morgan<\/strong>,\u00a0James<\/strong> Wilby<\/strong>, James Guy<\/strong> and Tom Dean<\/strong>\u00a0swim in prelims for Great Britain, with Matt Richards <\/strong>in position to take Dean’s spot at night. For France, Mewen Tomac<\/strong>, Leon Marchand<\/strong>,\u00a0Grousset and Hadrien Salvan<\/strong> will swim.<\/p>\n
