href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/meet\/2023-world-aquatics-championships\">World Championships Meet Page<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.omegatiming.com\/2023\/world-aquatics-championships-sw-live-results\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Live Results<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The American &#8211; who won last year in Budapest in 24.12 &#8211; posted 24.35 ahead of teammate and 2022 silver medallist<strong> Hunter Armstrong<\/strong> and China&#8217;s <strong>Xu Jiayu<\/strong> who both clocked 24.41.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ksawery Masiuk<\/strong> &#8211; bronze medallist at the <strong>2022 World Championships<\/strong> &#8211; was next through in 24.47.<\/p>\n<p>Locked out by\u00a0 0.05 in 24.86 was Australia&#8217;s <strong>Isaac Cooper<\/strong> as 0.51 separated the top eight.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Apostolos Christou<\/strong> and <strong>Thomas Ceccon<\/strong> &#8211; the 100 back world record-holder &#8211; were joint fifth through in 24.57, <strong>Ole Brauncschweig<\/strong> took seventh in 24.73 with <strong>Andrew Jeffcoat<\/strong> claiming the eighth and last spot in 24.81.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Kliment Kolesnikov<\/strong> has dominated the 50 back spotlight this week <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/flash-kliment-kolesnikov-sets-50-backstroke-wr-of-23-55-at-swim-cup-of-russia\/\">after crushing Armstrong&#8217;s WR in 23.55<\/a> at the <strong>Swim Cup of Russia.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The two-time Olympic medallist won the final in 23.68 for the second-fastest time in history with the Kazan meet featuring swimmers from Russia and Belarus who are banned from competing at the <strong>World Championships.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" data-attachment-id=\"534264\"
