The TYR Pro Swim Series stop in Irvine, California, continued with several of the top swimmers in the country putting together strong performances.<\/p>\n

Friday’s final session started with a dominating performance from Emma Weyant.<\/strong> After getting disqualified during U.S. Nationals and missing a chance for a spot on the World Championship team, Weyant threw down a 4:37.76 in the 400 IM to claim the first victory of the night, holding off the field by four seconds.<\/p>\n

In the men’s 400 IM, it was a dominating performance by Jay Litherland<\/strong>. The Olympic medalist also narrowly missed a shot at the Worlds team. He won the event in 4:11.74, five seconds ahead of Landon Driggers<\/strong> (4:16.54) and the rest of the field.<\/p>\n

The Texas women have been extremely strong in the butterfly events of late, and that continued on Friday with a 1-3-5 finish sandwiched around a couple of Aussies in the meet.<\/p>\n

Kelly Pash<\/strong> won the 100 butterfly in 57.85, just a hundredth of a second ahead of Australia’s Lily Price<\/strong>, while Emma Sticklen<\/strong> was third in 58.17 and Dakota Luther<\/strong> was fifth in 58.24.<\/p>\n

Wolfpack Elite’s Aiden Hayes<\/strong> claimed victory in the men’s 100 butterfly, getting to the wall in 51.24. Australia’s Jesse Coleman<\/strong> was second (51.66), followed by Jonathan Kulow<\/strong> (52.35), Finn Brooks<\/strong> (52.35), who tied for third, ahead of Trenton Julian<\/strong> (52.49) and Santo Condorelli<\/strong> (52.55).<\/p>\n

Paige Madden<\/strong> won her third event of the meet. The Olympian from Virginia won the 200 freestyle in 1:57.41, finishing ahead of a strong group. Justina Kozan<\/strong> was second (1:58.92), followed by Gabby DeLoof<\/strong> (1:59.51), Aurora Roghair<\/strong> (1:59.70) and Simone Manuel<\/strong> (1:59.71).<\/p>\n

Australia’s Maximillian Giuliani<\/strong> won the men’s 200 freestyle in 1:46.23, holding off Grant<\/strong> House<\/strong> by a half second. Olympian Brooks Curry<\/strong> was third (1:46.81), ahead of Luca Urlando<\/strong> (1:46.99) and Coby Carrozza<\/strong> (1:47.07).<\/p>\n

Mikayla Smith<\/strong> made it two in a row for the Aussies with a win in the 100 breaststroke. She got to the wall in 1:08.02, 15 hundredths of a second ahead of Trojan Swim Club’s Isabelle Odgers<\/strong> (1:08.17).<\/p>\n

In the men’s 100 breaststroke at the TYR Pro Swim Series, Jake Foster<\/strong> claimed victory in 59.64, ahead of Elite Coronado’s Nick Mahabir<\/strong> (59.96). Charlie Swanson and Joshua Yong<\/strong> tied for third at 1:00.09.<\/p>\n

It was a strong 100 backstroke with Isabelle Stadden<\/strong> winning in 59.83, followed by Catie<\/strong> DeLoof<\/strong> (1:00.44) and Phoebe Bacon<\/strong> (1:00.48).<\/p>\n

In the men’s 100 backstroke, Jack Aikins<\/strong> won in 53.83, ahead of Bradley Dunham<\/strong> (54.63).<\/p>\n
