Forty-two gold medals will be awarded, with 17 individual events for women, 17 for men, three single-gender relays for both women and men and two mixed relays. The prelims sessions will begin at 10:30 a.m. local time (9:30 p.m. ET the previous day in the United States), and finals begin at 8 p.m. local time (7 a.m. in the U.S.).<\/p>\n<p>Over the past two weeks, we have previewed every event set for competition in Fukuoka. Our guesses have the United States earning 15 gold medals and 44 total medals, just off the record-breaking 45 the Americans won at last year&#8217;s watered-down Worlds. Australia would finish second in the tally with seven golds and 23 total medals, both of which would be solid totals.<\/p>\n<p>Here is a rundown of day-by-day predictions for each
