U.S. Nationals: Six More Titles To Be Determined on Final Night (Heat Sheet)<\/strong><\/p>\n

The final evening of U.S. Nationals will include the 200 individual medley, 50 freestyle, women’s 1500 freestyle and men’s 800 freestyle. The session begins at 7 p.m. ET in Indianapolis.<\/p>\n

Katie Ledecky<\/strong> will be aiming for her third win of the meet in the 1500 free, where she is the top seed ahead of World Championships silver medalist\u00a0Katie Grimes<\/strong>. Also in the field are\u00a0Claire Weinstein<\/strong>, who upset Ledecky in the 200 free, and 1500 Olympic silver medalist\u00a0Erica Sullivan<\/strong>, aiming to qualify for a U.S. team for the first time in two years.\u00a0Jillian Cox<\/strong>, the surprise runnerup in the 800 free, will race in the final afternoon heat.<\/p>\n

Kate Douglass<\/strong> is the top seed in the women’s 200 IM after becoming the third-fastest American in history in prelims.\u00a0The two Americans who won medals in the event at last year’s World Championships,\u00a0Alex Walsh<\/strong> and\u00a0Leah Hayes<\/strong>, will race on either side of Douglass.\u00a0Carson Foster<\/strong> has the advantage in a tight men’s race while the race for second is open with\u00a0Chase Kalisz<\/strong> out.\u00a0Shaine Casas<\/strong>, the fastest swimmer in the world last year but in the midst of a disappointing meet, is in lane eight.<\/p>\n

Bobby Finke\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0Charlie Clark<\/strong> hope to once again grab Worlds spots in the 800 free after finishing 1-2 last year and also in the 1500 free earlier this week. In the women’s 50 free,\u00a0Abbey Weitzeil<\/strong> owns the top seed after swimming an impressive 24.24 in prelims, with\u00a0Gretchen Walsh<\/strong> and Douglass on either side of her. Douglass and\u00a0Torri Huske<\/strong> will both return for the 50 free final less than 45 minutes after the 200 IM.\u00a0Erika Brown<\/strong>, the World Championships bronze medalist last year, races in lane two in her final shot to qualify for Fukuoka.<\/p>\n

The men’s 50 free will conclude the meet with\u00a0Ryan Held<\/strong> as the top seed ahead of\u00a0Jack Alexy<\/strong> and\u00a0Michael Andrew<\/strong>, with Andrew, last year’s Worlds silver medalist, still not secured in his spot on this year’s team.<\/p>\n
