ZURICH, Switzerland, March 30. DANIELLE Villars completed owned the Switzerland Championships that took place in Zurich this week. She finished the four-day competition with seven golds, a silver and two bronzes for an amazing tally of 10 medals.<\/p>\n

Villars started off her gold-medal spree with a win in the women’s 200-meter free with a 2:01.14, she then nearly cracked the top 10 in the world rankings with a 2:10.61 to win the women’s 200-meter fly. Villars won her third title with a 56.90 in the women’s 100-meter free before collecting a fourth victory by way of a 1:00.30 in the women’s 100-meter fly.<\/p>\n

Villars was also a member of three of her Limmat Sharks winning relays. She anchored the 400 free relay win with a 55.46, as well as the 800 free relay win with a 2:01.71. She also swam the butterfly leg with a 59.06 for the Limmat Sharks<\/p>\n

Julia Hassler touched out Danielle Villars, 4:17.57 to 4:17.58, in the women’s 400-meter free for Villars’ only silver of the meet. Villars took third in the 50-meter behind Svenja Stoffell, 26.74 to 27.55. Villars also placed third in the 50 free with a 26.60.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Hassler went on to win the women’s 800-meter free in 8:50.65, and the women’s 1500-meter free in 16:42.73.<\/p>\n

Nils Liess won the men’s 400-meter freestyle finale in 3:56.25, before doubling with a 2:01.04 to win the men’s 200-meter fly. Liess tripled with a 15:50.21 to top the men’s 1500-meter free, before putting up another gold medal performance with an 8:19.74 in the men’s 800-meter free.<\/p>\n

Ariane Suter snagged the women’s 200-meter breast crown in 2:33.08. Suter then doubled with a 1:12.06 to win the women’s 100-meter breast. Martin Schwiezer clocked a 1:02.64 to win the men’s 100-meter breast. He then doubled with a 28.01 to win the men’s 50-meter breast.<\/p>\n

Lukas Rauftlin picked up the men’s 100-meter back crown in 56.41. Rauftlin’s second win came by way of a 2:03.58 in the men’s 200-meter back. Martina van Berkel stopped the clock in 4:52.97 to win the women’s 400-meter IM. Van Berkel then won a second title with a 2:17.31 in the women’s 200-meter back.<\/p>\n

Artyom Machekin clocked a 50.62 to win the men’s 100-meter free. He then swept the sprint free events with a 23.00 to win the 50. Sasha Touretski hit the wall in 29.75 to win the women’s 50-meter back. Touretski picked up a second title with a 25.63 in the 50-meter free. Maria Ugolkova touched in 1:04.51 to win the women’s 100-meter back.<\/p>\n

Allegra Schar grabbed the women’s 50-meter breaststroke crown in 32.92. Annick van Westerndorp posted a 2:20.47 to win the women’s 200-meter IM.<\/p>\n

Aleski Schmid snared the men’s 50-meter fly title in 25.01. Luca Pfyffer won the men’s 200-meter breast in 2:15.39.<\/p>\n

Alex Haldemann posted a 1:51.08 to win the men’s 200-meter free. Sven Pfeuti captured the men’s 50-meter back title in 26.38.<\/p>\n

Christoph Meier snagged the men’s 400-meter IM title in 4:26.73. Jeremy Desplanches took the men’s 200-meter IM title in 2:03.60. Aleski Schmid won the men’s 100-meer fly in 55.55.<\/p>\n
