Her strong ability to communicate and passion for the sport was evident in the hiring process,\u201d Alters <a href=\"https:\/\/goldengrizzlies.com\/news\/2023\/6\/19\/swimming-diving-hebzynski-named-assistant-coach-of-swim-dive-program.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">in a university statement<\/a>. \u201cI look forward to watching her work with our student-athletes and build upon our success here at OU.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Hebzynski swam at St. Cloud State in Minnesota, where she graduated 2017 with a bachelor\u2019s degree in mass communication advertising. The native of Maple Grove, Minn., worked for two years at her alma mater in marketing before returning to coach full-time at Minnetonka Swim Club. She volunteered at UNC while receiving her master\u2019s degree in Sport and Exercise Science, Social Psychology of Sport and Physical Activity.<\/p>\n<p>UNC finished third at the WAC Championships last year, attaining 11 NCAA qualifying standards.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI am beyond excited to be joining the staff at Oakland University,\u201d Hebzynski said. \u201cThe program has a rich history of tradition and excellence. After my initial call with Head Coach Mitch Alters, I knew it was the place for me. There is so much community and pride in being a Golden Grizzly and I\u2019m honored to be a part of it. I\u2019m looking forward to working with the fantastic student-athletes, staff, and administration.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Atlers was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/oakland-university-names-mitch-alters-head-coach\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">hired in April<\/a> to take over the Golden Grizzlies.
